Skinny jeans love

At the cost of dating myself, I remember wearing skinnies back in high school. Now I know they say, if you're old enough to have worn them the first time they were in fashion…Ha! I've learned to ignore some sayings.

I tried a few jeans before I settled on this Gap jeans. I have found some other brands since that purchase but there's something about first love that makes you reach for it again and again. This is an easy pairing for me on casual Fridays.

I've worn them so much that the waist has stretched out more than an inch. That, or I've lost weight (not likely). To avoid having to pull them up so often, I found that a belt is a must. I tried the front tuck. Is it ok?

I rely on shirts and jackets to hide the gape at the back. (Looks like I might need a hair trim)

During their Black Friday sale here in Canada, I stopped by at Gap to find a replacement. Nope, nothing left in my size. I might just have to add these to the pile destined for my tailor.

Ladies who own Gap jean leggings: did the waist line stretch out on you?

  1. I've been looking for jean leggings but haven't seen any that have appealed to me yet. I love the look of these on you but I hate it when the waist stretches out on pants. Your hair is beautiful by the way!

  2. Regardless of brand, I think it's just in the property of the fabric to stretch out. I have Sevens that did, but unfortunately (or fortunately?) I gained a few pounds post-pregnancy and can still fit into them!

  3. I love my Bluenotes jeggings! I haven't had problems with them stretching out.... but I try not to use them often so they don't stretch out :P And I had the same problem where I went back to the store to find another pair but it was sold out! Sad

  4. @Callandra: Thank you for the compliments. I also own a pair of Second Yoga jeans which don't seem to stretch at the waist or bum.

@Finley: LOL good thing your Sevens did not go to waste!

@gilly: Maybe I'm asking too much from my (poor) jeans??? I'll try Bluenotes. If you can, try Second Yoga jeans at Plum. They're sturdy so worth the price.

  5. I really like Gap jeans too! I went through a phase where I bought Big Blue jeans from Plenty. I feel like the quality of those jeans have gone down hill so I've recently been buying Gap jeans. I have a pair of the denim legging ones Extra Petite features on her blog and a bright blue pair of "jeggings." I guess there is a little bit of stretching but it usually shrinks back after some time in the dryer.

  6. @1to24: I'll have to find out where you get your colored ones.

  7. These were the ones I bought but they're out of stock. It was the "brilliant blue" one.

  8. I've never purchased a pair of Gap pants before, but I would love it if they brought the petite line to Canada!

  9. I have those jeans too, I find my black ones stretched more than my dark blue ones for some reason! The stretching on yours isn't noticable. They fit you really well!

  10. @Tang: I wish all stores would carry petites, right?

@Elaine: Funny that it's my blue ones that stretch but my black ones stayed the same! Most of the stretching on mine is on the waistband so wearing longer tops hide it well.
